Become BYU Ready

As we work together to become the university that “prophets past and present have foreseen it would become”—that is, as we ‘“become BYU’”— I hope that we will have the vision for what ‘“becoming BYU’” means for each of us in our individual lives.

Most FlexGE students hope to transfer to BYU after completing the FlexGE program

The BYU Admissions Office conducts a holistic review of each transfer applicant, which means they look for more than just good grades and test scores. The essay questions on the transfer application are meant to determine your preparation in each of the four aims of a BYU education, and your answers to these questions are a critical part of the holistic review. Applicants with good grades who lack preparation in the four aims will likely not be admitted.

We have recommendations for extracurricular activities you can engage in as a FlexGE student that will help you continue to develop each of the four aims. When you apply to BYU, you can write about these activities in your essays. Click the links to see an explanation of each aim and recommended activities.
